........... and instead of covering the East Coast of the UK, shall henceforth be deemd to include all areas on the East coast of the Atlantic ocean. So says the non-existent ECF committee of the non-existent ECF club following a meeting which didnt really happen.

A new life has emerged for me, the house has been bought, and a berth at Wicormarine in Portsmouth harbour has been secured. Early in January, Pipedream II will be moved to her new home :eek::eek::eek::eek:

Despite having had the worst season by far in a not very long sailing career, I shall miss the East coast ......... a lot. The places, the people, the familiarity, the emptiness, the people, the serenity, and of course, the people. A more fabulous bunch I could never have wished to have met when I started my sailing life at Bridgemarsh with Pipedream I in 2005.

It is however au revoir, and certainly not adieu. I am lookinng forward already to returning for the big 4 ECF events, hopefully aboard Pipedream II if time allows, or bunk scrounging if not.

So au revoir my friends, and thank you.

You have done much to make ECF the jolly place it is. I'm not going to say you will be missed cos getting rid of you won't be that easy :p

In some tiny way the Solent will be a better place. And the people there are much more knowledgable in the use of scrubbing posts :D:D: The stuff of legends :D:D:D

Whose round is it?

I think you will find Glayva has just completed his Colonising trip from Panama to Oz, so its now officially world girdling.

So, you gonna put some decent sails on PD2 so we can have a few thrash round the cans weekends?:p

Sorry to see you go! I just get here... and everyone is buggering off..

BTW.. they will have you up on charges for leaving your burgee flying when absent... so you'll have to sharpen up a bit!

Chichester and Langstone Harbours are nice to explore - you can even find the odd anchorage with space - well mid week anyway!

I spent a week last year in Chichester Harbour in May. I saw a couple of boats on the Saturday otherwise I was completely left to myself in Thorney Chanel. I don't think I could have found a more deserted place on the East Coast - the only difference I had to pay for my weeks anchoring in Chichester Harbour, but only £11, I thought it well worth the money for a quiet anchorage.

Coincidence? I think not :D

Wicormarine isn't very Royal Yacht Squadron :) It's a fair way up a creek, gets muddy at low tide, is friendly and welcoming and charges reasonable rates. My theory is that it's been transplanted from the East Coast.....

Alan, I look foward to creating lots of wash just for you, should you venture west of Southampton water. :)
