Don't know.

But I did a trip once on the French canals, this time of year. NE of Paris, in champagne country, it was bloody cold. The Tayors was going for three weeks, night and day, a godsend.

I love the concept but cannot justify the cost.
My Dad used to relate during the war how the USAF used to pipe up their pot bellied stoves in their Nissan Huts with a simple drip feed.
They could often be seen glowing bright red!

If you go down the Taylors route give John a try at http://www.taylorsheatersandcookers.co.uk/

I found him helpful when I needed spares for a Taylors stove. I also came across him and his good lady at Hythe marina last year and he mentioned that he supplied 2nd hand Taylors heaters.

Didn't answer the phone and did not reply to my e-mail query.

That is two chances and I don't give a third.

we've had Refleks , Danish, on two boats and have been excellent. They have a carburettor and you've got to clean them out now and again, but that probably goes for all makes. Simple and effective.

Yes I wanted a Refelks but the small ones didn't have a visible flame. They are probably the best heaters of the genre.

I'm on my second Refleks. The first has been donated to a friend and the present one has a visible flame and also a hotplate big enough to boil a kettle or use a small frying pan as well as keeping warm the whole interior of my boat. Excellent all round.

I remember a Taylors I think installed on my father's Westerly Centaur.

Great at heating the ceiling, but our feet were always b****y cold.

I would imagine the same goes for all of this type of bulkhead heater, unless you can circulate the air somehow or mount it very low down.

Could I ask those that voted for the Taylors 079D, have any of you had direct experience of the Sigmar series heaters? Any reason for your preference?

I'm continuing to research all the options and the Sigmar is doing very well at the moment... but this poll is swinging very much in the direction of the Taylors.

Thanks for all the votes and comments.

Haven't any experience of any of them so didn't vote, but I have hankered after the Dickinson, love the look of it and many good reviews on the net.
