Hi

Any recent visitors to either of the above care to give me a review, i,.e, are they worth stopping at and does the pontoon at the Flower Pot have enough depth for the old Birchwood on a stern Drive?

Cannot speak for the Dog and Badger but have been to the flower Pot albeit we walked there from Hurley a few times, really lovely food can be a little expensive if you have kids...

Flower pot in was excellent at Christmas after a very long walk and the Dog and Badger is up and down but the food was excellent when I went there last summer.

The pork pie (home made) and decent ales does it for me at the Flower Pot.

we went to the dog and badger a few weekends ago whilst we were moored up at medmenham. We only went up there for a quick drink and to stretch the legs before the the evenings bbq. I think the new owners have only had it for a couple of months, so probably still trying to find there feet. It is very nicely decorated inside (quite gastro pub looking), and when we went in (about 5'ish on a saturday), we were the only ones in there, so the atmosphere was quite strange. The landlord seemed friendly enough, but his wife / assistant, was very cold and you got the feeling that she didn't want to be there (didn't even say anything when we left after saying goodbye to her!)
The menu sounded nice and the prices look quite reasonable, but we didn't actually try anything.

Medmenham was a great place to moor up and would recommend it, if you haven't already been there.

I have heard that the flower pot inn is quite good for food. I have only ever been in there in the winter when we go on walks in the area, and it is often busy then with walkers & locals.

Is the Dog & Badger a place you can go just for a beer? Have the impression it's mainly a restaurant.

In the past it has always been a bit of both, several years ago they used to sell good ale but I gather it has recently changed hands again so here's hoping it reverts to a good place for a drink and a meal.

Hi Guys

Thanks for all the feedback, SWMBO has for the first time uttered the words "that forum thing can be quite useful for information I suppose" or in womens talk I understood it as , finally something of use to me from your constant surfing of that bloody forum.

So now we try both places and will feedback our reviews over the next few weeks hopefully
