The credit crunch and 2nd hand boats

Asking prices for Moody 44s seem to be around the £100,000 mark. I would probably accept about £85k for mine, (after any surveys and negotiations!!), but I dont think it will sell in Malta.

To cut costs to the bone, I'm going to bring her back to England and moor her at Glasson Dock, where she will be a floating caravan, (very hard to sail from Glasson Dock, but a lovely place).

The reality is that most investment and other money advice is based on the general assumption that what ever is happening today will continue for ever.

The reality is that in a few years all this will be forgotten and the banks will be trying to get you to borrow cash as if there was no tomorrow, and that awfully nice Mr O'Leary will have been able to borrow cheap money to buy mor cheap planes and will restart the services he has cancelled because they are not profitable at today's conditions.
