The Cloggies throw a party

We bumbled into Sneek Week by accident.
What an event!
About 1000 boats from oppies up to 20 metre barges, mostly wooden and all impeccably maintained.
The partying starts about 4pm and ends when the last person falls over.
We are anchored about 1 mile from one of the sound stages. Currently an oompah band playing Bob Dylan, Status Quo and the Young Ones version of Alice. The crowd know all the correct words to the chorus.
Lunchtime shopping in town produced several barges in congested canals carrying live bands.
I can't think of a similiar event anywhere.

It is a big social event for all of Friesland form sailing dinghys to Lemsteraaks, Schokker and Botters. The racing is very competitive and the drinking is equaly enthusiastic.
