Yes! an actual decent place! No chance of meeting up with any of the riff-raff who frequent the dodgy greasy spoons listed below - they'll all get thrown out! This is a proper joint. Several Michelin stars, and a reassuringly humungous bill of about 300 quid each for lunch. So, even better, there's no chance of meeting me there as I won't be able to afford it twice in the same decade.
This ranks as a very top place -proven by the fact that unlike any of the other cheap and nasty horrid eateries elsewhere on this bb - I can't remember a thing! I got hopelessly lashed after the endless freebie something or other cocktails, and I drank whassernames complimentary whiksey tastings summink when she went off shopping at 3pm and came back an hour or more later. I think I had foie gras at some point within the first three courses, and the last two or three courses included sugary things, possibly with wild strawberries and some intersting chocolate thingy at some other point. Also, it may have been at the Martinez, not the Carlton. Anyway, it's very very highly recommended, wherever it was.
