The Bus Pass Creepeth Closer

This will be the demi century will it not...or was that last year....?

Happy Birthday Jimi, would gladly buy you a drink if I was to bump into you. Never mind what the other naughty boys here say, they are just being spiteful.

Funny thing about getting older: the sailing season seems to get shorter as the years pass. Launch in April, get sorted and get sailing, and before you know it the nights are drawing in, the September gales looming, and the yard is talking about crane out dates.....

Have a nice day!

Many happy returns Jimi. This evening, I'll drink a few in your honour.

Re: The Bus Pass has arrived!!

The season getting shorter? Who sez? Admittedly I had 6 weeks off getting mended last summer (me that was) and another 6 weeks this year while the boat was made watertight, but there's a lot of catching up to do if we are to exceed last year's modest mileage.

To be honest, I wouldn't be too upset to hear that Sister-in-Law needs SWMBO over Christmas and I can just cast off ( long haul to Beijing not my scene you see.)

And don't knock free buses: I get from house to boatyard in 20 mins. Sadly, they don't coincide with High Water, but that's this country all over.

Re: The Bus Pass has arrived!!

Thank you all!

Seriously though, as I approach the evening of my life some recent events bring home to me the value of life and the need to make the most of every moment.

Jamesie - do you remember how as a young man you couldn't hold your willie down with both hands and now that your youth has passed you can do so with one?
This means you are getting stronger.

Which is why, as I turned 55 last week, with barely Dazed Kipper barely under my belt, I went out and bought a 45ft cruiser and set off on a new life adventure. Lifes too short to hang around in bars.

Happy birthday Jim.
