Hi

Does anyone know where the deepest area is for mooring at the big field in Windsor called the Brocas (according to Google maps). My boat has a draft of 1.10 mtrs and I recently moored near the railway bridge end of the field and detected my props just catching the bottom, also throwing up lots of mud. Being based at Penton Hook I would like to use Windsor as a regular overnight mooring spot, any advise appreciated.

It's very shallow there we moor there quite a lot and nose the bow in and then set up the warps to keep the stern out.

On a summers day when I was about 8 I said' look at that man doing his exercises'. The man had a par of legs around his ears. My dad, unusually for him, didn't hit anyone but took me and my sister off to find a policeman. He found one on on the Windsor / Eton bridge. He told the copper that people were 'having it off' in the Brocas. It was the first time I had heard the phrase.

Hope this helps.

Always use the Island also, haven't moored on the Brocas for 20years, there's a lot of yobs around from that rough old school down the road :)
