Edition 9 of the Bristol Channel Yachting Association's Handbook (The Blue Book) was launched on the 7th of June at Clevedon as part of the Severn Area Partnership's second annual forum. Edition 9 follows on from the success of the last edition which was sold out in a matter of weeks.
The main contents of the Blue Book are the local pilotage details supplied from member clubs of the B.C.Y.A. The book covers the coast from MIlford Haven, Swansea, Cardiff, Sharpness, Bristol, Burnham on Sea,Watchet and Padstow, and includes many of the small harbours and creeks between.

Available directly from the B.C.Y.A. at a cost of £5.00 plus £1 postage of from your local club.

The B.C.Y.A are holding a Rally in Cardiff Bay on the 14th & 15th June
In partnership with Cardiff Bay Harbour Authority, BCYA members will benefit from discounted mooring during the weekend. To benefit from the discount boats must be pre registered.
You may contact me for further details
Discount berthing will be available at Mermaid Quay for pre registered boats. This is the same weekend as the Cardiff International Food & Drink Festival

Erm, it's only a quid to moor up anyway /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

We'll be over anyway I'd have thought, the food & drink festival was good last year.

Its a quid per hour .Without a discount the quids would add up over the weekend.

We will probably go over for an afternoon,if you see our scruffy blue Anderson 22 say hello there will be beer in the coolbox and the cockpit tent rigged as a sunshade.......perhaps /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

I've just got a reply back from registering at link below to say Saturday night mooring is free on Mermaid Quay for pre-registered boats. Hopefully I'll be doing the Weston Bay Plate Race on Sat as part of the PCC team and come up from Barry for the party!

'Security pass' organised and we'll see you all at Mermaid Quay at some point over the weekend. Just waiting for details from suzanne about the pontoon layout, apparently the harbour peeps are changing it around today.

Made to most of the weather yesterday and went over, oh my god, how busy ?!?!?! Managed to raft up on the outer edge of the pontoons for a few hours, F&D festival was heaving and *lots* of boats came over only to find no berths /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif Shame the commercial boys wouldn't relinquish a few berths for the weekend.

Impressive all the same, never seen Mermaid Quay so busy which was great to see.
