The black rubber they use to take an impact around your boat?

Its wearing out on my boat, sort of breaking down because when I clean it lots of black comes off on sponges and rags.
is there anything I can put on it to stabilise the rubber? Or do I have to bite the bullet and replace it all?
any ideas out there?

Silicone milk - or that's what it's called in Greece.

You will find this stuff in car accessory shops to wipe over rubber bumpers.

I can't find my spray bottle of it to check the name.

Tried googling sillicone milk but all I got was silicone milk tube!

saw this though on Amazon, it might do the job? Aerocare RUBBER ROLLER RESTORER 100 ML, AERO004 (OK)
