I am looking into buying replacement Lifejacket but have had problems with past ones that sit happily on the stern of your neck which after a four hour watch feels like someone has been using your neck as a warp.

So the front runner at the moment is the New and slightly more expensive Spin lock Deck vest. Does anybody have any experience of them (against others) as i would appreciate some feedback as i do not want to pay out extra if i will also have a warped sensation at the end of a winter watch.

purpose - offshore sailing, high strength, easy of use, does the trick.

James, Im pretty sure this was the make used by Eric Andlauer (winner Jester 06 - www.jesterinfo.org ) who wore it 24/7 for 33 days I think it was, although his was harness only, not lifejacket.

I have no experience for Spinlock, but I did buy some better ones myself last month. These are recommeded to me by the Dutch coastguard more or less by the fact they use the brand themselves. The brand is Secumar, model Bolero. It's a German product and is also very much in favour at the Ladies department because of the ability to follow certain curves...
The jacket comes with very easy locking clip, similar to what you find in cars. It has a very soft fleece thingy in the neck. I bought the 275N version.

I have experienced the back of neck pressure problem with both a high volume lifejacket and one of those daft designer narrow pack examples.

The spinlock product interested me but when looking at one briefly in a chandlery the bulk of the pack behind the neck concerned me.

Can I ask what sort of build you are. I wear my lifejacket full time on the boat, for hours, and have never had this sort of problem, even when only wearing a t-shirt or similar underneath, so it's possibly a person by person issue and fit and design.
