I found this old picture reminded me of a "summer"cruise we did from Cardiff to Dale.We planned on 2 days to get down there with beer in Swansea overnight.

Ended up 7 or 8 days and 2 full gales later and lots of beer to recover from it. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Reminded me of a formative sail when I was 15, in a Maurice Griffiths 33 footer called 'Sequence' from Burry Port to Lawrenny. SW 5 over Carmarthen Bar with the ebb after a 5 am start and porridge made from water (Ok let's not get into porridge recipes), motor sailing. OK not a gale, but as I said, formative. The colours are about right too, grey on grey.

I wonder where the others are now - Bill x and Bill y.

Still, the sun came out for the sail up the Haven. At least you've got the wind free...

Spent a couple of days dried out on the beach outside Ferryside YC. Woken in the morning by Farmers Kids driving the cows along the beach.

Must be the Welsh version of Cowes Week?
