The aurora - its not over yet!

For those of us who missed last nights displays because of the weather, NOAA announced that another major solar flare occured 8.20pm yesterday, and the resulting solar wind is due to reach us on friday evening, possibly generating another major display of the Northern Lights.

Whats the betting it will be raining again!

Got a sight of it in Dumbarton last night - twice. Once at about 21:45 and a better view at 11:03, once the light cloud had cleared.

It, to be honest wasn't much of a show, I have seen the lights before when living near Aberdeen, it was more a thin sheet of light, just W of N, but the aurora never-the-less.
