I bought one of the ones that you plug into a cigarette lighter socket a couple of years ago & I reckoned it was a fab quality product then & it has been a wonderful godsend.I have really hammered it & it has done sterling work but about six months ago it developed a rattle.Clearly something had broken loose inside. It carried on working perfectly alright until the day before yesterday when one of the wires leading into it became severed.
I took it apart as clearly it should be simple enough to repair but on parting the case I was surprised to see a capacitor type thing (it might be a transistor you know the sort of thing but I know very little about electronics) about the size of a cigarette filter was the thing that was rattling around inside. The question is why has'nt this caused it to conk out :ambivalence:Clearly it dos'nt seem to need it.
It is black with a grey stripe along it & is marked 35v 470uF.It also seems to be called +secon (in a trade type logo) & says -40+105 (degrees,I don't know how to do the symbol) C.
