Hi again. Sorry for not posting for a while but I’ve been a tad immobilised post-surgery.

I’m starting with a request. I’ve almost finished the sequel to ‘An Idiot Aboard’. I want to include a section on the nasty business in Vlicho Bay on the 20th September 2011and I’d be very grateful for any info or observations from forumites, preferably first-hand, but second-hand can be useful.

I’d be interested in any observations, but I’m particularly keen to include an account of Ruairi Bradley’s courageous rescue of the woman from the upturned catamaran.

Any insights would be greatly appreciated

Thanks in anticipation

If you want first hand info , best to email Ruairi , I sure he be able to answer all your question , as you may or may not know he was given a Medal for his bravery in diving underwater and pulling her out ,
its a real shame her husband didn't make it .

Thanks Vic. I've been in touch with Ruairi and he has been most accommodating as always.

As far as I'm aware there was one fatality on the water. As far as I can make out, a French boat dragged onto the quay. The skipper hit his head when he slipped between his boat and the quay and subsequently drowned, sadly.

I was trying to get a steer on windspeeds. Most estimates seem to be in the 60 to 100 knot range.

Cheers

Bob
