That\'s blown it !

Towards the end of last year I fitted a new deck socket for my ST1000 Autohelm tiller pilot. Of course I wired it wrongly and it never worked - didn't hold course, sent the boat in circles etc. I used the downloaded manual and tried to "reset" it, but to no avail. Have I bu&&ered it completely ? or is there still hope ?
(bu&&ered, I think, is gaelic for broken)
