... but also something else more fascinating in the shape of a large substantial carrier bag with two pieces of 5mm red synthetic cord abour 1metre long each as handles.(Doubles as shoulder bag)

Now when I got it home I started to wonder what incredibly ingenious on board use S'butters could put these to? Its a re-cycling age these days so what can you come up with?

Aforesaid bottle of scotch as prize to the most resourceful and practical well detailed scheme. Otherwise N X 2 metres (where N is the number of visitors to YM stand) of perfectly good cord will go in the trash!

Visit the YM stand boys the scenery is well worth it - AND (I assume) he gets paid wages too!) Girls well catered for too (I have it on good authority)

Now think "Red String"

Steve Cronin

(I had to take out a subscription to get the scotch!)

Re: Whisky

I also got a bottle of Scotch when I took out a subscription at Kip 2nd hand boat show. It was presented by a young lady much nicer looking than James (although he does have a Scanmar). It was not just any Scotch but Talisker single malt. Not a 70cl bottle but a generous 30cl approx bottle. Nice to see us yachties are treated well sometimes.

2mtrs?...... Hmmm......that would be about the right length to tie round the neck of a bottle of something in order to dangle it over the side to keep it cool - of course it could only be dangled over the port side. Suggestions from the crew include "perfect for shoe laces" and at the right time of year it is exactly the right stuff to thread through a horse chestut to play conkers!..... Or you could always do something boring like cut it up into little bits to mark the anchor chain...... The possibilities are endless.
