My boat is in a drying pontoon berth, lovely soft mud. Today I thought I’d give the engine a run when the tide was up. The raw water inlet was frozen and so no cooling water circulating. I’ve never seen that before. The boat spends the majority of its time in mud not water and the inlet is on the east side, facing the wind. But even so. I think that shouldn’t be allowed

Mother nature is much, much more powerful than you.

I remember the Glasgow RNR ship getting halfway down the Clyde before the same fault was recognised back in the late 80s. Not mud though. Frozen water in the dock!

Well it is spring now so it should soon melt the ice. Well we hope anyway. Meanwhile back in the western antipodes news reports indicate we have had a record mild summer. No days exceeded 40 degrees only 5 exceeded 35 degrees and a record low number over 30 degrees max. Plus record rains fro summer. No complaints mind you. Early autumn can be pretty warm sometimes. Any way what happened to global warming? olewill
