Just a quickie to thank all the guys who gave me so many helpfull sugestions to my "helming problem" last week. Went out for a quick sail on Sunday after fitting new compass (for the concentration factor), new mainsheet track control lines, and a clean bottom. Fab sailing. Gentle breezes (bout 10 knots i guess).

It seems you were all right, i was pinching. Just easing off the wind abit, keeping her abit more upright by being free with the main sheet/track and a steady 7 knots upwind IN A STRAIGHT LINE!!!!

Whoo Hoo!! Can't wit till next weeks race now...

Thanks again.

Great stuff. Not sure about the gentle breeze though, we had a beautiful winter sail to Poole on Saturday afternoon and a cracking return trip on Sunday morning, with a steady 16-18kt (true) breeze most of the way back. B****y cold mind you, but it sure made you feel sorry for all those guys with boats propped up ashore. Good luck with the racing. Steve.

Ah, then it was you we were watching from the warmth of Keyhaven YC bar. General consensus was you and your fellow sailors were as mad as lorries!

Cold?

Thank your lucky stars you weren't skiing. -17 degs C on the top at Serre Chevalier, plus a 40 metres per sec wind. Things are only just returning to their normal size and position.
