Trudy and Andy in particular.

My 15 year old Autohelm broke last weekend. After working out what had broken (one of the drive cogs) I phoned Raymarine yesterday, they phoned me back to confirm they had a replacement and I picked it up today. The cost: £2 + VAT

So I can go off single-handed this weekend as planned. And even the weather is looking better!

One of my drive cogs had worn down last year, (a known problem with linear drives, and the plastic cog has now been replaced by a brass cog), and it cost about £200 to buy a gear kit.

Perhaps it depends on who you get, but I got no offer of collection either, (I was in Spain, but could have arranged collection).

Was still pleased with the service - I just dont think everyone will get what you got.
