I diverted to Cardiff the other day on route to Milford Haven with an engine room full of water. I needed a few hours to get to the root of the problem which in the end turned out to be a poorly poitioned bilge pump seacock. I went alongisde the first pontoon I came to and went ashore to ask where I could stay for a few hours. The welcome was fabulous and no charge made for our stay. How refreshing in these times and many thanks to the members of Cardiff Bay Yacht Club for their hospitality.

The first pontoon is designated as a visitors pontoon. Although not a member of the club, I have been there many times and have always been pleased with their hospitality.

But then again, what else would you expect from Cardiff folk!

I am glad you were looked after during your short visit. How did the rest of the passage go.

Ive just remembered promising to send you the phone number for the range control, sorry. Did you have to go around or were you able to take the direct route?
