I'm off on my first "proper" cruise, from my muddy creek in Saltfleet up to the Tyne and back.
I had a spot of outboard trouble, anchored outside Scarborough waiting for the tide it refused to run. Deftly deposited on the visitor's pontoon by the fishing boat "Predator". Thanks Lads.
Help and advice flowed freely at the Yacht club, thanks to all who suggested things to try. Problem turned out to be a crack in the insulation of a single wire causing a short.
I was even offered the loan of an engine if mine was U/S, from Steve with the rather large "Celtic Prince", unexpected generosity that took the stress out of the situation.
So to Bob at Scarborough Marine Engineers, Scarborough Yacht Club, Eddie the Yacht Club steward, Neil in his lighthouse for his dry wit and everyone else who offered help and advice, a very big THANK YOU.
Managed to get to the Tyne, currently in St Peters marina.
Probably heading south tomorrow.....
