Praise where praise is due.

On Thursday I discovered a significant crack in my cast aluminium steering drive wheel (aka quadrant), in port in Ijmuiden, Netherlands.
On Friday I got back to England, researched the maker, which was the US firm, Edson.
At 15:15 Friday I placed an order for a replacement with Paul at Diverse Yachts in the Hamble.
That evening Diverse emailed back to say the new part was being machined to our specification in the States.
Saturday morning they emailed to say it had been despatched from the States.
Midday Monday we collected the new drive wheel from Diverse and it is now on its way to our Dutch engineer.

Brilliant work to help us recover, repair and get going again. Thanks to Edson and Diverse.
(And of course to Jon in the Landau UK parts department!)

That's amazing..... why is it that the simplest of things turn out so complicated, yet something that could potentially be a nightmare can be so quick and simple???
