For an excellent race today, and a very generous prizegiving and buffet.

And for all those still abed etc etc - it was crisp, sunny, with a 15kn Easterly. Excellent sailing weather with a mixed fleet which could accomodate almost any boat and did include a Macgregor. Good for him!

I was trying to work out why you'd asked that - thought I must have contravened some obscure racing rule and you were about to protest - couldn't work it out as we were on starboard and you port.
I was doing quite well till I made a real balls up trying to round the windward mark, and half the fleet went past. All good fun and good practice though.

Dont take this wrongly but we asked because the MacGregor doesnt have much of a rep as a pure sailing boat so the initial reaction was a bit of wonder what you were doing. But as I said earlier, good for you. I'm pleased you enjoyed it.

The spring series starts on the 8th Feb. See you there! /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

It's rep is well deserved - I wouldn't recommend one for the Bristol channel, and I hope to get something a bit more seakindly within a year or so. It can be reasonably fast though, particularly in light winds (<f3) when you can dump the water balast and get up on the plane. Anything stronger and especially any swell and the performance really suffers as does the comfort factor. Not my best researched purchase!!!
