Those of you who haven't already done so and are intending to come to the Rally need to get your booking in by the end of this week. The booking form can be downloaded from the TVR web site http://www.thamesvalleyrally.co.uk

It's a great weekend in Henley Reach and includes a Pig Roast and Cabaret evening, free Pimms celebration and a Dinner Dance, not to mention the Boathandling competition (fun for competitors and spectators alike) and sail past.

Did I mention the beer tent? /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

It's also en route to Byron's Asmount Rally the following weekend.

If you haven't been before I urge you to go. It is one of the highlights of the year and gets the season off to a flying start.

That's a sore point, I've got more than I can handle, I may need some help on the day. Amazing how the ladies come running when you offer them a free drink! /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gifWhat am I going to do with them all?
/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

You haven't quite got the hang of these wimmin things yet, have you Flash /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Well Wimmin are Complex creatures. Giving them simple tasks such as washing up restores the Equilibrium. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Is my Logic Flawed?? Oh I'm not sure I want to know. Ignorance is sweet /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Anyway, this Thames Valley Rally thingy. Not been before and don't know a huge amount of peeps going. Is it like a stranger walking into a village pub?

True, but we'll be going to meet the forumites, so they can slap me around a bit for some of my previous posts... /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Well myself, Brayman, Dogsbody, and Apollo amongst others will happily make you feel welcome I'm sure.
Did we mention the Beer tent?! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Don't forget to send me your booking form - available from the Rally web site or I can email you one directly if you prefer.

Additional forumite liekly to be attending with a B25 is Ramage of course.

Form recieved, with thanks!

Now, a small issue perhaps you could advise me on...

I have to work on Saturdays, to help fund my Boating habit. This means I can't get to the boat before about 17:00 hrs, and adding an hour and a half or so to get to Henley means I'll not be there until 19:00 hrs.

Where do I moor? Will there be a space, or will I have to raft up* to some poor sod /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

*i.e. imbed by bows into another, hopefully not Steel, vessel...

Rafting up is pretty much the norm (sometimes 3 abreast) I'm afraid but if you are booked in there will be a space for you whatever time you get there.

Don't worry though, rafting is a good way to meet other boaters and check out their beer stocks /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Hope to see you there,

Darren.

As Darren has said, space will be allocated for you. Probably best to make contact when you leave T&K or once you are through Marsh lock and we can give you more detailed instructions.

Right-ho....

The booking form and chaeque are ready to post /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

We are going to try to leave T&K by around 4PM (Earlier if I can get somebody to cover for me) and I would imagine around 2 hours to the rally site.

We're in for both the Hog and Chicken meals, so will have lots of liquid refreshment on board /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Carli and crew are planning to attend. I have not been on the internet since Sunday when someone dug through the local BT cable so no phone and no internet.

Currently at my Mums where I am using my brothers connection!

BT have so far sent my 7 text messages assuring me they are working on it!!

Happy days........

A quick trip to John Lewis today has procured a new Blazer, White shirt and natty tie for myself, and a new Dress for Mrs 'NR' for Sunday evening.

Knowing how exacting the Boating fraternity is about dress code, I trust this will pass muster /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I now have coverage at work on Saturday, so should be leaving T&K by 3PM

I can't imagine having power at the moorings, but will a Honda suitcase genny be acceptable at reasonable times?
