I was getting so many text alerts i thought there was a tidal wave sweeping the Thames

Tsunamis work their way down from the upper reaches or the Thames , destroying most weirs and locks , red boards are displayed at most surviving lock sites. The outlook is for the four horsemen to work their way over the Thames catchment area laying waste to all in their path. Run to high ground with your families if you can.

Those of us who are going to the Thames Traditional Boat Rally next week have had an e mail from the Rally Committee who had a meeting on the site to survey the extent of the "Fawley Lake". The Rally goes ahead but the layout will be changed to accommodate the new feature of the upper meadow.
