thames holiday cruise photos

And thephtographer, Mike Phillips, is "stuck" behind me in "Deux Poissons", his replacement boat, in the continuing Trad Rally at Fawley Meadow, although to be totally truthful Mike is trudging around Henley trying to find a working tumble dryer, because the one at Swiss Farm isn't working.

Re: thames holiday cruise photos/Osney Bridge

As a matter of interest, who else takes their dustbins on holiday? The photo's 57 - 60 show our way of getting under Osney Bridge; 6 dustbins full of water, all the pig iron in the wheelhouse, flooding the bilges up to top of drip tray level etc, to drop o/a height from about 8' 3" to 7' 4" or so (ie a little safety margin). Having said that I did manage to hit the bridge in about 2002 and do a bit of damage to the wheelhouse. There's about a 6" drop when the lock is filling, but also a bounce - or surge to use this week's term - and I think I got caught by the extra inch or so.
