Can everyone else hear these? Or is it just me that finds them unintelligible under the 'new' Coastguard setup?

Today the lunchtime and later broadcasts from the Bradwell aerial on channel 86 were low and distorted, with lots of background interference, and read by an operator with a very strong foreign accent, similar to that which you would expect when speaking with a foreign call centre.

As I say, is it just me??

I have been known to call them up and ask them to repeat it (on the working channel) when it's been unintelligible (under the old regime, not yet done so this year)

They've always been happy to oblige

There does seem to be a problem with the Bradwell ariel at times though. Occasionally it's as clear as a bell but at other times it's terrible

Agree with Erbas, I never use 86, always use 83 for the MSI broadcasts. 86 is never very effective. Not heard a 'foreign' operator though.

she lives int Ull

I have heard the 'ull lady, her delivery was clear if somewhat 'ullish, some others I have heard recently altho' English enough sounding were obviously reading something quite unfamiliar to them and often stumbled over phrases at time srendering the meaning a bit unclear. I haven't heard any real furriners though.

Has anuyone else got a horrendous noise waiting for the MSI on the Bradwell ariel? After leaving Channel 16 and retuning the first thing I've been getting is a deafening interference before the broadcast.
