Thames Barge

I met the skipper of a dutch barge in the Netherlands a week or so ago. He'd really like to make contact with someone with a Thames barge, so they could compare and contrast their boats. His is run as a commercial operation in the Waddensea, sailing from Lauwersoog, and he'd be interested in communicating with either a private owner, or someone doing the same sort of operation as he is. I could get a name or two from the web to send him, but if there's anyone you know of, then I can give him a slightly more personal introduction.

I could suggest the skipper of 'Greta' which is based at Whitstable - see www.thamesbarges.co.uk. I know him slightly.
But he had a bad fall a few weeks ago and is in hospital. Maybe if you contacted him through the website ?
