Thames Barge Vigilant

Just returned from visiting parents in Topsham and thought I would share a couple of piccy's of Vigilant sat on the putty in the process of a full refurb.
1" oak planking being fitted and looking very good. Built 1904 and most of the woodwork is still good. Massive ribs and had a payload of 120 Tons.

H,mm must be different boat,this one was broken up on the the beach according to website. !

Must have been some bonfire judging by the amount of wood in them.

This Vigilant continued to be sailed into the early 90's before being used as a houseboat. It sailed from the River Colne in Essex to Topsham where it now lies.
