The sun beats in the back of my boat (in Spain) and my German neighbour has fitted a Roma textil screen which is very effective in keeping out the sun and letting air in. http://www.roma.de/de/textilscreens.html
There must be uk equivalent but I can't find it.
Does anyone have experience of them? Although my friend's fitting is not far from vertical it does let drips in in a shower.

My German's not great, but is it just a mesh screen? If so then we have one, and they're common in SoF, but are usually made from the vinyl mesh used for the underside of seat cushions to let water drain out, and they attach using the luff track on the flybridge overhang or radar arch. You can get different mesh density, and I think the best for this purpose only has about 25% holes, so you let a maximum of a quarter of the sun through.

I'd post a photo, but haven't sorted a replacement for photobucket yet.

We've gone a step further this year. We now have another mesh screen that zips to the back of the flybridge bimini and the other end attaches to the radar arch with press studs, creating a screen over the sunpad so we can sunbathe in the med summer without frying. It has been a great success, and has obvious health benefits as well.

Both of the mesh screens take only seconds to put up or take down.

I've got these for the T40 as well, light grey coloured, made by the local cover guy. Very effective and we use them much more than I expected when I had them made last year.
