Teston lock will be closed for a week,due to the "new" lock gates not fitting properly.
Hate to say this but suspect all the olde boyes with an auger and adze who worked on the locks in the distant past were probably all got rid of due to some reorganisition or other and then some spotty youth with appalling spellin and some sort of certificate was given the job.
Still spect he is good with his Ipad and Twittering or whatever seems to pass for communication these days..
"Contractors working at Teston have been unable to adjust the tail lock gates to enable them to work to a satisfactory standard. To fix the issues, a full drain down of the lock is required. This full drain down will take place between
7am, Monday 8th July and 5pm, Friday 12th July.
For this period, the lock will be closed to motorised vessels. The portage route for unpowered craft will remain in place"
