I have recently fitted a brand new (several years old) Motorola m8989 car/cab phone with the hope of improved signal.

I have connected in a brand new Glomex RA160 antenna using Aircell 7 cable and N connectors but can't get a signal. Connections have been professionally made so is there any way of testing the antenna installation?

Unit powers up fine and I have tried 3 different netweork sims cards.

Thanks

The display should give ab indication of what is happening......Does it lock on to any of the networks and indicate the network name????? Does it indicate failing to connect or Sim card error. Does it show signal strength??????

Hi

It does not display any signal strength or network name but network name is available in menu settings.

No error messages are apparent.

Herewith photo of what I see

Well it sounds like it is a happy bunny but with no signal! Could be something wrong with antenna or lead.

Best test would be to get a made up antenna such as one of those cheap licence holder thingies and test the system.
Thats all I use on the boat and its fine. I got mine from a fella who did car installations. If that doesn t work then your system may be
faulty.
