Test Sail - A \"Grand Day Out\"

This weekend we went for a test sail, as we have now decided a new boat is in the offing.
We tested the Archambault Grand Surprise, which isn't really a "Yachting Monthly" kind of boat, but great fun if you "like that kind of thing". Never the less, I've done a little write up on a blog if you fancy a read, the link's below.

How are you going to be able to wangle a huge discount when you have given it such fulsome praise? /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Sounds like you know what you want already...... How much are they?

Re: Test Sail - A \"Grand Day Out\"

I think the fact that Claire's toes don't reach the other side of the cockpit has got to be worth, wot, ten grand?

Yeah, she's great. We have to look a couple of others, but I'd say she's a tough act to follow. The frenchies haven't got over 200 of them charging about their coast for nothing!

Pricewise, you'd spend under £60k for a new fully biffed one.

[/ QUOTE ] Or maybe a free leg extension operation? Seriously, it looks like the helm has something to brace on, how about a role reversal?

Well yes, but compared to "other makes" of similar performance, she's pretty well priced.
Boats of similar cost push more to the cruising side, which we're not so sure about.

We're off to drive one of the "americans" soon, so will see if they are worth the extra dosh!
