I have noticed that my insurance plicy prescribes that I have the T/T to on my tender. Till now I have don it using marker pen, but even though indelible it washes off.

Then I noticed in "Three Men in another boat" that Griff had a sticky name tag on either side of his flubber. Does anybody know where one can get hold of these? Thanks.

Go to any car spares shop, they will have sticky plastic letters/numbers

[/ QUOTE ] They would have done in the days when you were allowed to make up your own number plates but I am not so sure they have them now.

Agree with you though I would get the stencils and paint from Polymarine and paint it on.

Bought a number plate today and saw the rack with numbers/letters on it and the blank backing pads. You don't need any documentation to buy sticky numbers plates. They are only legal on trailers.

We are talking tenders here. I would get a stencil from W H Smith and use any old dark paint I had surpluss.

[/ QUOTE ] Thanks for that info I had not seen them recently and thought they were no longer available , at least as readily as they used to be. Perhaps the trade in trailer number plates is low compared to the old trade in false number plates. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

[/ QUOTE ] If the tender is an Avon or similar made from Hypalon its worth getting the special paint for it. Any old paint is likely to fail fairly quickly, but the special stuff sticks like the proverbial. From memory 'Polymarine' sounds familiar, but the tin is in a box in the garage somewhere and I can't check.

[/ QUOTE ] The same applies to almost any other make made from PVC. Polymarine sell paint suitable for PVC as well as paint suitable for Hypalon. "Liquid Letters Hypalon Lettering Paint " and "Letterflex PVC Lettering Paint" Both in range of colours and the Letterflex in aerosols as well
