Does anyone have any idea or recommendations for what I could use as a one/two man tender for a 20ft bowrider?...it needs to be easily inflated on board / easily stored and better than Toys-R-Us quality !....many thanks.

I doubt if you will find anything small enough. There are those that would say that a 20ft bowrider makes a good tender itself

I've never found anything suitable even now that we'ce risen to the dizzy heights of a 21ft cuddy :)

I'd echo that... we had a 19ft 'sportscruiser' and stuffed a tender in the cuddy with the idea we'd inflate it in the boat... it never got used and just took up useable space in the cuddy.... if you're thinking about getting on to a sandy beach with it, why not just beach the boat, that's what we used to do?

May I ask whaT 21FT Cuddy boat you have as that is what I want next. And on the subject of tenders I have just sold a 14ft Bayliner Bowrider and when I bought it I looked for rowlocks and oars.

Well, there is a 21ftr in our Marina (a cuddy) that carries a very small 2m tender on snap davits I think. He even carries and small OB too! It does look a bit err... overloaded, but he does it. As has been said, the Kayak sounds a better option or indeed beachor land the boat, but if you are determined, there are some very small decent quality tenders out there. Have a look on www.ronhalemarine.co.uk for some ideas.

Thanks for responding....I guessed that there probably wasn't a solution....the best we do is to beach it on Priory Bay....will have to buy a bigger boat !

Couldn't make it to the boat show this week....and I cant stand that gloomy show at Excel full of miserable looking exhibitors....oh well, next year.

We moved on to the Monterey 214 fsc which we're very happy with. Big enought to handle the Solent and small enough to be fun. :D

On my 20ft Centre console I have a 2m Compass style inflatable. With normal pump it will blow up in under 5 mins. Used a 2hp Mariner on it. Kept it down in the front locker. Ok for 2! Also on my 21ft Cuddy I had a Suzamar 230 which was too big. Look at a 2m with a transom and you will be OK.

Weren't Lodestar showing a 'Billy no mates' tender a couple of years ago?
Was about 3' long!

'Billy no mates' is no longer available and was designed for 1 person and no engine. Might be able to pick one up secondhand if lucky

Smallest proper dinghy I have seen is this one. At 1.6m it is capable of taking a 3hp outboard.

Would have thought it could be kept across the transom or deflated on board on a 20 ft boat.

That would take a Merc 3.5 and prob do 10kn :D

How about fixing a keelguard to the boat so you can run her onto the shore without damaging the gelcoat and using a Bungee anchor system to keep the boat off the beach when you have got off? Best if you can come up with a bow ladder arrangement also.
Been using the above for the last five years, and for us that was far better than having to carry a dinghy on our 21ft cuddy.
