Hi all. I'm trying to source davits for easy launch and retrieval of my 220 Promax Rib. I am considering the Hurley tradition davits and wondered if anyone here might have experience of them. My location is Malta and some powder coated davits I've seen just don't last. Appreciate any views. The boat is a Beneteau Antares 30 fly.

A word of advice.Have just removed a set of davits from my boat.
Thought it was merely going to be a few minutes removing the visible bolts securing the davits.
Turned into major operation.Lots of hidden steel work to distribute stress and strain over entire transom.
Threading in both compression and the other way ? round involved connected to various "L" mounting brackets hidden away.
This will need to be done on your boat to stop the davits ripping out of the the glassfibre,
You can imagine the loads with the boat going one way and the rib/outboard going the other, probably amounting to several tons.

I have the Hurley davits on my Azi. We launch and recover a 2.6m Ribeye with a 6 hp Yammy 4 stroke. Works brilliantly. I did have an issue with the powder coat bubbling and flaking, but the importer had the davit back and completely reconditioned for me FoC. Great service.

I have Hurley H2O davits (no powder coating as they are some form of plastic). Work really well with a 2.7m Honwave air deck tender plus 6hp engine on the back. Would definitely have them again.

Mike I am thinking about installing the same setup on my sealine F34. Is it easy to recover the tender without dragging it over the side of the swim platform. Can you do it single handed even with a 6hp attached?

Thanks David

No experience of the tradition davit but had the H3O on my old boat. Good build quality and easy to install.

Yes, can recover single handed with 6hp on, but definately easier with two. Our platform is relatively high from the water which makes it slightly harder though.
