On my boat, the filler pipe has an upstanding section with a male thread. The cap is female and sits above any water on the deck.
I haven’t lost the cap (yet), but discovered this morning that a blue plastic cap from a large container of Adblue for cars is a perfect fit. It’s now in my kit box and will hopefully guarantee that I don’t lose the original.
Sorry, I can’t identify the Adblue container, the thread form etc, but I thought this might be of interest to anyone who loses a cap.
