No not No regrets Broom :-) Temple Marina, any of the forumites moored their or have any experience of Temple Marina

General Interest having spotted it for the first tiime the other day lol,

Nick

lol i was referring to your broom as a temple lol

U on the river this weekend at all? we should be up sat and sunday, so if you are and see us at the mooring by all means stop by for a beer and a chin wag

I think we'll be practising boat handling for the TVR as BCC's secret weapon.

We can enter the noobies compo you see /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Peoplpe I know who moor there really like it. They moor bow in and their stern looks out on to the river, quite pleasant if you don't want to go out. There's a nice lawn in front of the boat but I believe there are restrictions on what you can do on there.
It is between two locks which can be a pain. the pontoons are fixed so a bit of a concern with the EA's problems of maintaining water levels, although that being said the levels between the two locks don't fluctuate that much I gather. I don't think it is that cheap though.

The Temple Marina has had a pretty chequered history in so far as being bought, sold and bought back by the original owner who only bought it himself the first time because he kept his boat (Broom) there.
It is a nice place to moor and like Harleyford enjoys a nice mid-way position on the Thames.

Max length 40ft ('cos of position near weir),
some restrictions (mostly reasonable),
more expensive than Harleyford.
No full time office.
(Info possibly out of date)

Not quite right, He actually moored at Harleyford and it was after a Bray Cruiser Club meal in Marlow that he and another member who also moored at Harleyford saw an add in MB&Y "moorings for sale". A few weeks later they ended up buying all the moorings between them.

That's a good few years back, he's long gone now.
The people who bought the whole thing knocked the house down and have built two (I think) more and operate the marina I believe.
Lovely looking house, I'm surprised they kept the marina operational to be honest, unless there is a covenant on it of course.

That was until he flogged his boat!

At least he did not damage your ceiling rose in the hall, it was the other lot!!

He has a new one now.
Surprised you know about the ceiling rose, are there no secrets on this river of ours?

Thanks all

We have now visited and have to say it seems like a very nice Marina, good shower block, spotlessly clean, beautiful grounds and seems very secure. They have a full time Marian Manager called Colin who is there from 9 to 5.30 and a gardener who lives on site.

Nothing on the web about it other than the address and phone number. Seems they don't advertise either, about 64 berths and only 4/6 available which I guess is a good sign.

Cost is comparable with Harleyford in fact cheaper as the electric is on a meter at Temple where as Harleyford advised 440 per annum fixed +£80 per annum winter electricity meter rental. With 1 unit @15p that's equivalent to 3,466 kilowatts of electric a year or 9 kilowatts 365 days a year, unless my sums are completely wrong thats seems massively overpriced and unusable I would have thought on a 25ft Birchwood.

Like the idea of being middle Thames and within spitting distance of Marlow and Henley. So maybe time for Tristan to see a new stretch of water at weekends. Will be a big wrench to leave the lovely mooring with have now if we make that decision. SWMBO however is quite keen.

What are the other electricity prices like in other Marina's any ideas?

Cheers
