Telly reception in Burnham...poor or am I set up wrong?

Anyone get decent telly reception in Burnham?

I just about get a good picture 1hr+/- HW...other than that it's a snowstorm!

Got a "Status" antenna and little booster box...booster box seems of little use in fairness.

Anyone got a good signal without satellite?

I get very good reception in Burnham Yacht Harbour on all 4 main channels and pretty good on 5. My set up is an aerial at the top of the mast with its booster hich came with the aerial. I currently use a lap top plus Hauppage Win TV.

ahhhh mebbe that is my problem. I am "driving" a motorboat with a mast of, erm, about 6 feet. Not 60.

unfortunately telly reception isn't enough to make me swap my twin diesels.

My mast is about 30 feet, I suspect that lack of aerial height is your problem. Come aboard next weekend and check out my reception. Possibly your booster is caput, Mine makes a vast difference.

I suspect this is a height thing, though, if you are okay with mast mounted systems...

I can hardly get a picture with analgue, and no pictures with digital from the aerial sat on top of me tv. I keep on promising myself that I will put up a fixed one on my radar arch with a booster, but always have had too much to do.

judging by the other posts the answer is to buy a sailing boat with a big mast.

I am thinking I will get an aerial stuck on a pile and run a co/ax from that.

Hi there and welcome to the forum. Is this the sort of thing you mean ? Looks very similar to the Glomex and UFO type.
