While I'm waiting for the weather to improve I've been working on the house.
The kitchen has had major surgery but there's a casualty re the stove in the picture. I thought I'd use it in our future dining room .
I got the chain saw out and cut up a longitudinal timber from my moorings again as in the picture .
Now does it look ok , to big or over the top ?.
I can use the big cross beam as a lintle set back in by a bricks length, also the stove which by the way is a Triumph Stag ( cos I swapped a stag for it while in Holland ) will be lower and back into the fire place by another 9"" . The stove chucks out plenty of heat when running the fire box glows red.
I'm undecided and don't know if I should do major surgery re battering the fire place. What do you lot think.
Tell you what though as the timber is still wet it has the smell of the sea
which is pretty cool .
Cheers
Mick
