Can you narrow it down a bit; what type of food are you looking for and at what price?

New York city would have to be a steak house and you could do a lot worse than Benjamin Steakhouse 52 E 41st Street.

If you also need accommodation whilst you are there then the Library Hotel is just across the street. A wonderful friendly boutique hotel.

I forget what it's called, but I had a fabulous steak in the steakhouse at Grand Central Station. I'm sure a quick Google will reveal what it's called.

The station is just round the corner - literally, from the Library Hotel / Benjamin.
