Teflon grease

I'm just about to repack my conventional stuffing box and wonder if anyone has tried teflon or ptfe grease in place of the more conventional stuff. Is there any advantage?

i have not tried it but doesn't sound a bad idea - ptfe has amongst the very the lowest coeff of friction as praps you well know and i cannot believe there are any special secret qualities afforded by the gunky goo contained by most sternglands.
However, the teeny weeny reduction in drag probably won't be very substantial and may not even be noticeable. I suppose the drive wd be less likely to be adversely affected by overtightening, that's about it really?
