It's much easier to coat your anchor with butter. The only problem is that when you head south, it melts.

Surely you'd need to put the teflon on the bow ... if you put it on the anchor it'd never hold on the seabed....

What an excellent idea Stingo.... makes navigation for crossing the Atlantic easier..... just head south until the butter begins to melt, then head West! What a great idea for a navigational aid which doubles as anchor protection and could even be used for other things in an emergency! You had better patent your idea quickly stingo! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

How are you going to do that when you're at anchor?

Well I'll have two anchor's, silly! I'll keep the teflon one for frying on and use the other one for other things

I've used Anchor Butter for years, better than that Lurpak stuff.

I keep my anchor liberally covered in muddy silt. Stops it looking rusty anyway

Polystyrene anchor, won't damage your boat, does not get fouled, does not break your back lifting it, easy to store.

Trouble is it does not sink - so you have to tie a ruddy great anchor to it. I am still working on that bit
