I've just finished varnishing my cockpit table with international schooner. I tried roller, expensive varnish brush, cotton cloth and tee shirt material as applicators. The roller was ok but not great and tended to leave bubbles, the brush left a surface like sandpaper and the cotton was a little stiff to use. The ideal was tee shirt material which was softer than the cotton and left a beautiful mirror finish. Teeshirts are also cheaper than brushes!

Sounds in quality similar to the foam applicators that are sold here in the Netherlands.
Same effect - no bubbles left, shiny surface.

How did you apply it with the material? Did you thin the varnish first?
