Boat is a Nimbus 345 (2000), 2 x Yanmar 230hp.
1. Separ "water separator" fuel filters fitted from new, 2 per side with change over switch each side. Last autumn 1 filter started leaking whilst boat on mooring. Dumped 5 gallons of diesel in the bilge before noticed. Fixed by engineer at Lymington. Replaced top and bottom seals and skimmed the top and bottom plates as signs of slight warping.
2. Last weekend stopped over night and found another filter leaking diesel into the bilge. Only about 2 gallons this time. Leak seems to be from the bottom plate seal.
Has anyone else experienced problems with these units? If so what was the fix?
3. Simrad CP40 chartplotter factory fitted. Original Channel Card works fine.
Installed new card for Belgium and Netherlands which is C-Map NT+ W (not Max). Does not register. Confirmed card is fine. Simrad expressed surprise that the software in the CP40 could not read the new "W" cards but it is now with them for resolution. Anyone else had similar experience and what fix?

1&2 We have separs, but not had this problem. Ours are the ones with the square diecast bodies

3. Has the simrad had the new software loaded on it to read NT+? If it's 2001 or pre, it will only read NT, not NT+. The NT+ software is easily retrofitted - Datayacht in Lymington did it for us once on a CP40

Many thanks.
Yes, they are the square section ones. Spoke yesterday to the UK distributors who were equally bemused by my problem and also concerned. Offered to take all 4 and replace all seals and pressure test. Will almost certainly do this.
The CP 40 is 2000 and the only card that came with the unit was also dated 2000 so hopefully this will turn out to be the problem.

Goodo re fuel filters. They seem helpful people. You haven't got much choice but to accept their helpful offer. Hope it fixes things. Separ is a top brand, your problem sounds like an isolated one.

I'm 99% that if CP40 is a year 2000 unit it will not have the software to read NT+ . That was introduced about mid 2001 I think. So you need to get NT+ software loaded onto the Simrad I think. This is quite simple for a dealer to do

Simrad have now fixed the problem and it seems you were spot on!
They actually inserted a different PCB and it was to accomadate the NT+ changes.

Again, thanks.
