Teakdeck replacement in turkey?? Experiances??

I would appreciate if anybody could tell about experiances regarding teakdeck replacement in turkey (qualitiy, costs, service).

Can't help with actual experience, but we had a valuation survey done last year on a boat we were thinking of buying - a Nauticat 33 - in Marmaris. It needed re-decking and we were given a verbal estimate of €16,500 for the yard to install a new teak deck, glued not screwed down.

The surveyor said the cost could vary, depending on our input, since it was a headache to oversee the work, provide storage for deck fittings, headlining etc whilst it was being done. The cost then was based on €500/sq.metre.

Hopefully you'll get a better picture from forumites like Lady Jessie who are based in Turkey.

There are two teak deck specialist firms in south-west Turkey: Yat Lift in Bodrum and a company I just forgot the name of but it is based in Netsel Marina in Marmaris. Both have an excellent reputation for quality of work. I have used Yat Lift for a re-caulking of my deck and they did indeed make an absolutely sterling job. The deck was in 'boat show' standard when I got the boat back. Price quoted above of 500 euro per square meter for total replacement seems about right if my memory still serves me.

You could try Ilhan Demir in Marmaris Yacht Marina. I think this could be the same company that Lady Jessie is referring to. They used to be based in Netsel but moved because Yacht Marina grew larger than Netsel. I saw some of his work on an identical boat to ours and was fuming with jealousy!
