I'm looking for a supplier for a very small amount of teak or Sapele in the Plymouth area.

Can anyone help?

Thanks,

John

For tiny bits, I find that it is best to find something made from teak that is broken and cannibalise that. Garden furniture is a favourite - though you have to be able to spot the real thing which is not easy without a bit of practice.

Cabinet Supplies in Union Street usually have teak veneer and may be able to help.

What sort of size are you looking for?

Thanks Doug,

I tried Cabinet Supplies at the weekend without success unfortunately.

I'm looking for a piece around 20 x 100 x 300mm.

Try searching eBay. There's quite a lot of smallish bits various hardwoods on there going at reasonable prices. I recently bought two pieces of red meranti to make replacement handrails for just over twenty quid including postage (about three times the size of the bit you're after but there were other bits available). By the time you've driven round a few places and paid for parking in fruitless search, it may be better/cheaper to buy a larger bit off eBay.

I use Ebay quite a bit but I hadn't though of it for this.

A couple of minutes browsing and I have found several possibilities.

Thanks.
