Teak Decking

Can anybody advise please on the cleaning, restoration and maintenance of teak decking including tried and tested products.

I purchased 'teak wonder' (4 part - cleaner, brightner, sealant and dressing finish) at the LBS and will be applying it next weekend - will let you know the outcome.

'Teak wonder' is good, but it makes the silvery teak. look like new wood. ps what ever you do don't scrub it.or pressure wash.

I use dishwasher tablets, the ones with the little red ball, dissolved in warmwater, a stiffish brush, a little muscle, and a good rinse in clean water, great result every time and equally important available locally and inexpensive. But agree with Rich, you must never use a pressure washer, washes the natural oil out of the wood and leaves wood with a rippled feel.

I thought it would be a good idea to borrow a belt sander to rejuvinate my teak deck. All the little white lines finished up on my garage floor and the deck looked like a sheet of marine ply. £680 repaired the damage. !!

Just had all the teak "done" on cockpit, Fly, platforms, etc with Semco having done a trial between that and a couple of others on tha bit underneath the Rib during last Summer. Semco lasted best and certainly looked the best from day one. Whole boat now looks "restored to new". I have used "Wessex" two pack Teak cleaner and brightner. Works fantastic and with no scrubing needed.
