I have a 12 year old V28 with a teak deck.
For the past three and a half years maintenance has been confined to throwing salt water on the deck preferably first thing in the morning and around sunset in the evening. This has kept the teak clean and slowed deterioration.
I'm now in the River Plate where the water is fresh and heavily laden with sediment. I'm reluctant to use river water and don't think fresh mains water is the way to go. I've never used oil having seen numerous posts on these forums advise against it.
It's pretty hot here. 37º on saturday and 35º today and I'm a bit concerned about the teak deteriorating.
Any suggestions?
